Caring girl.

What do they traditionally eat in Mexico?

If you where in Mexico what would you eat at

Breakfast?

Lunch?

Dinner?

I don't mean what they have for offer at the hotels. I mean what Mexicans eat in their own homes.

and we drink alot of beer and coke.

It all depends on personal preferences, because some people have for breakfast what is left from the lunch of the prior day, or some people have heavy dinners while this usually isn't the norm -- lunches are heavy and dinners aren't.

For breakfast we usually have fruit, yoghurt, muesli or similar stuff, pan cakes or waffles, and eggs in many different ways. Enchiladas and chilaquiles are also very popular.

For lunch you can have soup, rice or pasta, and a main dish which is usually made of chicken, beef or pork meat with vegetables, beans, etc. Fish is not as popular but we do eat it, especially during Easter. Many people also eat things such as tacos, tortas (a sort of sandwich), or hamburguers and fries for lunch.

For dinner, you can have milk or coffee or hot chocolate with pastries, or salad, a sandwich, leftovers from lunch time, etc.

Breakfast: Eggs in countless varieties (Mexicanos, rancheros, con chorizo mmmmm) or quezadillas or sopes.

Lunch: This is the biggest meal for Mexicans, I recommend Pozole (corn soup), Mole(can be with chicken or pork), cecina (skirt steak) with beans, rice, guacamole, and corn tortillas.

Dinner: We call it diet "T" (Tacos, Tortas, Tostadas...), you may want to go to the little food places called "Fondas" they sell the best homemade food, the type of food they sell is called "Antojitos Mexicanos". And, it is very inexpensive

How do I know? I'm Mexican and love my food!

Mexico is connected to the global community. However traditional lifestyle continues to demonstrate influence in cuisine.

Tourist areas such as Mexico City or Cancun will offer to visitors variations of the tourist's preferences at home.

Local and rural Mexicans dine on basic tropical fish, fruit, poultry, rice, vegetable, and meat menus. Juevos(eggs) rancheros is a popular breakfast or morning meal with fresh tropical fruits (banana, cantalope, kiwi, mango, papaya, and pineapple).

Corn or wheat flour is a major dietary element in a variety of forms. Tortillas 1. are used to make burritos 2., enchiladas 3., tacos 4., and many traditional meals.

Arroz (Rice) is another staple. Arroz Con Pollo(Rice and Chicken) and Arroz Con Frijoles Rice and Beans) are two standard rice meals.

Hope this helps.

Breakfast -- Desayuno

Our lunch is their main meal of the day and may contain any of the following:

Their evening meal is usually a light meal, sometimes just finishing up the leftovers from the main meal in the afternoon.
