i think LEGAL immigrants, people who truly want to be a part of the US, our culture, and our collective values and morals....i'm all for them! come on over!
since you put this in the mexico section...i'm assuming you mean mexicans. one thing that does really bother me...the assumption that all mexicans are illegal. that's just NOT true. and for me, personally, it's very hurtful that people make assumptions especially when they've clearly never been to mexico. they don't realize there are many highly educated, intelligent, and successful mexicans, who are in the US for investment, business, masters degrees, etc... these people have never washed dishes or mowed a lawn in their life, and i'm embarrassed when US citizen assume otherwise. i understand there is a high number if immigrants from mexico who are not educated, or are looking for low skill jobs....but some are NOT. and to look someone in the face and talk trash to them about being illegal, when they aren't, when they waited in line and did everything LEGALLY, and they still get treated like crap...it just makes me mad. |
