My name is Erin, I am from washington. I like mexican people cause they are friendly and their culture and history is amazing. My husband is from Mexico, and I love to go and visit his family in Mexico. I really miss my MIL cause I haven't seen her in about 2 years. They have such amazing family values too. I know alot of people have negative images about Mexico and Mexican people, and that is really sad-it is just another form of ignorance.
edit: wow scottie, you really don't know what you are talking about. Mexico does NOT have a dictator, they have a President just like the US. They vote, just like us. Yes, they have some problems there, but last I checked the new President is trying VERY hard to correct some of the countries top issues (like drug lords-he has caught and sent some to the US to be prosecuted).
edit: I agree petardo, american people are very ignorant of other cultures and languages. We are required to take a second language in High School, but hardly anyone actually speaks that second language while in school and after. It amazes me how much some people here don't know about other people. I mean, I don't know much about Asian or Middle Eastern cultures, but I do know about Latin culture (namely Mexican cause of my husband), but I try not to judge people from other cultures especially cause I don't know much about them. |

I love them...... My husband is Mexican. My name is Tasha and I'm from North Carolina. I think that most parts of Mexico is beautiful, usually they only show the bad parts on tv so thats where we get the bad impressions from. |

anyway, as someone else said before, mexicans are just trying to live the best way they can... legally or ilegally... in Mexico or abroad.
Besides, i dont think they refuse to learn english...
BTW a lot of people all over europe, asia and latin america speak 2, 3 or more languages, we dont have that here... I think that proportionally, americans are the most ignorant of other languages (and cultures). |

I think. People are people wherever you go. bad and good. nice or unpleasent experiences can happen to you here and there, and we can't judge a culture for one nice or evil person. I love my country, and I I would never move away from it. It is nice and beatifuland the weather is priviliged, however I really respect the ones who have a different opinion.

I am working in Hermosillo, Sonora and I have been here for over 2 years. The biggest problem with the Mexicans is that they have a problem being on time for anything. They are always late, in fact a common joke is the statement "Mexican Time" and "Manana". Everything here is tomorrow.
Another thing is Mexicans will only promote Mexicans and if they are from the same city. For example here in Sonora, they have a big issue with 'Guachos' and 'Chillangos'. They dislike people from other states especially those from Mexico City. |

I think that they are like every other human being and are just trying to live the best life they can. For most of them that means coming to America to work and raise their families. As far as what I like about Mexico I don't know, I've never thought about it. I don't plan on ever going there because I don't plan on ever leaving the United States. The Mexican People are mostly hard working good cooks with a zest for family values. Their culture, food, music and senoritas are among my favorites. Unfortunately, Mexico is ruled by a dictator regime which forbids freedom of speech and expression of ideas. Therefore 90 percent of the population wants to flee and enter the United States without the application process for immigration. To many of them feel that America is the reason for their corrupt racist government. In the past we have overthrown the Government of Mexico on a couple of occasions. I hope that the next overthrow is accomplished by the citizens of Mexico, because we can not afford to continue taking people who want to cut in line and CHEAT! |
