U.S. we are the best at everything know other nation can top the U.S at anything.

I don't understand why it is that every time someone asks a question dealing with Mexico, all kinds of ignorant people waste their time in making remarks that are not necessary, hence "wetbacks." It is degrading and of a racist nature. I am so sick of people that are like that! I can see the good in both countries. Yes, the U.S. is better economically, and we are a "world power"(though that seems to be on de downfall) but the moral of American people seems to be sinking deeper and deeper. The injustices the minorities in this country face are without a doubt very degrading and it is heartbreaking when racism rears its ugly head. I wish the Mexican government would actually implement laws that helped close the gap between the rich and the poor so that a stronger middle class could emerge,so nobody would risk coming to this "land of opportunity". Maybe then American people could see how much they really need these so called "wetbacks" whether they want to admit it or not.

Mexico!!! or any latin country for that matter (preferably Colombia)...I'm so fed up of the US

Love the Ocean
Mexico is better for vacationing. It has beautiful beaches both on the Pacific and the Atlantic sides. It's cheap, food is great, people are very nice and friendly. It's not expensive to fly there or stay there. The list goes on and on.

I really dont think I can top YR's answer bit I'll add........ Mexican Gov't and hence a wide majority of the people are corrupt. It has been going on so long that its just accepted. I live in Acapulco and will give some examples of what Ive been told , seen and know to be true......... I paid a traffic cop 100 pesos for a infracction and he smiled as he followed me to my destination. If I paid him 50 he would not have followed me and would have radioed a friend down the way to pull me over and pay him off. Media is the most dangerous job - if they report the corruption they will get killed. Just a fact. I did a job for the shop and the bookeeper just blatently took money - when I asked the other employees why they didnt step up and tell the boss - its not mine and I dont care. She was the 4th bookeeper in 4 years fired for stealing and the 5th will do the same. Ive been robbed 3 times in 3 years - just petty grab and go stuff. Please understand the poverty and lack of a good education leads to a different mindset about stealing and corruption. The education system has failed them and crated a generation or two of less than intelligent people.
Water service is intermittant at best. Electricity can be gone in a high wind. Some connections on the poles frankly scare the hell outta me ! Most people dont pay the electric bill and simply climb the pole and reconnect - problem solved.
The electricity , water and gasoline are Govt. owned and the people really dont see this as a problem . Democracy only on paper !!! Lack of a good education keeps them from seeing the potential problem associated with the Gov't owning the basic services all citizens need.
There is a complete lack of pride in alot of thier work. You see it everywhere. Building construction , painting , road building , trash on EVERY steet .
The seperation beteewn the "haves" and the " have nots" is huge and there is a blatent " Its all about me ! " mentality. Its again is everywhere - Not acknowledging you in a line at a store , just running in front of you to get on the bus. Drving practices are insane !!!!
I as an American can leave any time I want but.........I sit on the beach and think - What if I had no choice , I was a Mexican ???? Man, you would have to have a different outlook on things. I have to do whay it takes to put food on the table - survive. Hell the govt dosent care about me and I have limited oppurtunities, education and jobs , so to hell with everybody.
Anybody reading this please visit and take a drive around the " real " Mexico , not the touristy areas. Look at the peoples faces , thier houses , their dirty streets - Now get a beer and THINK - I cant go back to America this is my reality. I have no American citizenship this is my new home. It will take an hour or two for you to realize.................
America is by far the better option.....................

Question is too broad. You can't just say which is better? Better at what? Better to live in? Which makes better beer? Better to vacation in? You'll get more effort from your answers if you put more effort into your question.

USA is a first world country... Mexico is not. That says a lot.

I'm originally from Venezuela, but I've been living in the US for almost 3 years. A long time ago I visited Mexico DF really nice place.
