Oh, for goodness' sake.
I love the Mexicans as much as I love the Indians, Germans, Japanese, Chinese & many other ethnicities I encounter in life. Why should I care about outward appearance or if the culture is different? We ARE all the same, with differences made bigger than they need to be. |

I think they have great culture, and that everyone needs to have at least a few Mexican friends. You're never just friends with a Mexican, you become part of the family, and that's really cool. |

I am have Mexican (and Proud of it) and the only ugly thing about Mexico is the Government. Mexico is a beautiful country! Mexicans, well they are very hard working people, they work jobs that nobody else would want and they are very loyal. Que viva La Revolucion! |

I like the Mexican people. It is the government that I dislike. The amount of corruption at the expense of the people. Where is all the tax money going. All the money from oil sales? All the money from bridge crossings? All the money from income tax in the maquilas. It certainly is not going to the people for education, roads, social programs and things that make the country better and wealthier. Every ex-president of Mexico is a billionaire. |

Mexico is a very beautiful country. When visiting Mexico, the Mexicans are always very friendly compared to over here in the US, they transform SOMETIMES into gang people. Which then makes them bad. |

VIVA MEXICO!! My best friend Carolina is from Chiapas, Mexico. Sweetest woman you ever met. She'd give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. I don't think it matters where you come from, there's good and bad in all walks of life. |

What do YOU think of America and Americans? My point is simply that the question begs for biased answers. I think many if not most tourists see the Mexican from a rather arrogant point of view. Of course many are poor and live in a culture that is more laid back and slower paced than ours. I do medical mission work among the poorer and Indian populations of southern Mexico. I assure you they have the same concerns, needs and desires we do. But they also can be a loving, colorful and compassionate people if you really get to know them. You have to understand people in the context of their culture. I would hate to think that a "tourist" to the USA visited only a bunch of bars in an inner city and concluded that all Americans were dangerous, unkempt and not to be trusted. And a little knowledge of their language always helps as well; especially if YOU are in THEIR country. |
