What is 15,000 in Mexico Peso's (Paper Money) worth in American money?

Prof.Gringo
It was 10.5 MX pesos to 1 USD for a long time, plus or minus a little. That ain't the case lately. A few months ago (June/July) it was about 9MXN to the US dollar and with the economic meltdown in the US it's now about 11.84 MX pesos to 1 USD as I am writing this.

What does that mean?

$15,000 MXN = $1,266.75 USD (10-6-08)

A pretty big difference from $1,500 USD.

1500
you get 10 pesos to 1 dollar (approx)

King of CancĂșn
you are looking at about $1,238.13 USD

sparks_mex
Right now it's 11.5 pesos to the dollar but only if it is NEW PESOS, Pre-1992-1993 pesos are worthless

a good rule to follow is 10 pesos/$1 dollar. That is what i use. I checked it out on allaboutcabo.com I wil be there (cabo San Lucas) next month

Joe
Right now the peso has become very strong compared to the dollar, DO NOT make the mistake of going 10 to 1, the conversion is more like 9 to 1 now. Because of this, I'd say 15,000 pesos is equal to a little less than 1500 dollars.

As for the new peso comment, I haven't seen an old peso in circulation in a long time. Don't worry about running into old pesos; you probably won't.
