I hope you have an all-inclusive resort because Cancun is not cheap. Nothing is cheap there.

There are ways to go budget on vacation. Buy your liquor, beer, snacks and soda at Walmart. The bus downtown is only 65 cents and a great way to get around. Fun too.

I think you will get inventive once you get there. Have a great trip and good luck)

Are you staying at an all-inclusive resort? If so, then the only money you'll need is for tipping the bartenders (a must at all-inclusives), any day trips you may take (for example, 2 for a daytrip to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan Ruins is like maybe $100 and includes all meals that day), if you decide to go out, etc.

A lot of the big name bars have covers, usually arounf $5 or you can pay $30+ and it's all you can drink all night which is actually the better deal.

Also transportation around Cancun is pretty cheap too... the busses are really inexpensive.

I think you should be find if you budget yourself. Also if you worry about not wanting to eat out, stopping at a local grocery store or market will save you tons.

Well it depends if you are going all-inclusive.

If it is all-inclusive, then yes. If it isn't, then you may be very strapped for money and not eating a whole lot.

I have been to Cancun area several times but I stayed at all-inclusives and still spent more than 1000 total.

It all depends if your staying in an all inclusive resort or not. If so then yuo can maybe swing it. just avoid going on the club hops. they can be expensive because they can charge you for the all inclusive price to party ($40) top drink at the bars. If you are styaing at an regular resort, then just try going down town, the bus is like 1.25 and you can eat and hang out. You should be find. But i learned that next time i need to bring more money. ( like 600 just for my self, all inclusive or not) i want to experience mor e than the party seen....

definately not, if you plan on being in a hotel, eating, partying, etc......I'd say a minimum of a grand.

it will be tight. buy booze at the corner store and party on the beach, stay clear of clubbing too much or will be out of money in no time. Cancun is my least favourite place in mexico, it's more american than mexicn. u should head up the riveria if you can and check out one of the parks..exceret, and i forget the other, but thery're awesome. also, u must check out the isla de mujeres (island of women). u can get a ferry right from downtown cancun. spend a day there, rent some scooters or golf cart and tour around. if you have all inclusive you should be all right, but i hate all inclusives as no one will want to leave the resort and there is too much to check out.

depends on what you are planing on doing, but I think if you are careful and know that you are on a budget than you should be fine. remember our money goes a lot further there. also be aware conversion how many pesos for $ and try doing some quick math in your head so you are prepared. when I went to Venezuela we thought the prices were great till we got back to our resort and converted the money we spent on one outfit!!!! know that they will try to take as much of your money as they can. they see a tourist a mile a way(this was in no way meant as racist look at our tourist traps, we do the same thing, just be aware!
