What is a junior ocean view verses an ocean view in terms of an all inclusive resort?

We are looking at a resort in Cancun and this was one of the two options.

There aren't any legal or widely accepted definitions for these terms, so your best bet would be to contact the hotel.

There were three couples that stayed at the Gran Caribe Real last year and we all paid for Deluxe Junior Ocean View. All three of us had the same room with different views. One actually had what I would call ocean front, one had an ocean view if you let one person hold onto your feet and dangle you off the balcony over the pool area and then my room had an ocean view from one end of the balcony. The couple with the really bad view asked and they told them that in Mexico and ocean view means just that, if you can see any little bit of the ocean then that is what you get. The junior was a junior suite. It had a step down area with a sofa and a small table and chairs. If you truly care about the view, I would pay more and get an ocean front room. Hope you have a great time.

"junior" or "partial" ocean view means that if you stick your head over the rail of the balcony and twist like a yoga devotee, you will be able to see some small part of the ocean.

It totally depends on the resort you are staying at. Some...there is absolutely no difference....just a bit different view. Others.....the junior OV has a step down the a small sitting area. Unless I was just planning on staying in the room a lot, or there was a large number of people staying in the room.......get the cheapest. You won't be in the room long enough to notice the difference. I stayed at Gran Caribe Real in October....I had OV....I was directly on the beach with the best view in the house. A lot of times it is strictly based on availability. If you are one of those picky people.....get the junior OV.....otherwise, go as cheap as possible and spend the savings on something fun to do while you are there!!!

Junior suites depending on the hotel have a sitting area, or is bigger then your average room, some have upgrades in the room such as liquor dispensors and jacuzzi tubs, it all really depends on your hotel, different properties provide different upgrades...........

you get a view of the junior ocean, i.e. the indoor swimming pool

Junior ocean view *may* be slightly larger, such as a junior suite. All resorts are different though so you would have to contact them to be sure.
