Mexico has an unbelievable history, it goes a little farther than violent blood thirsty Indians.
Wilkepedia is not such an excelent choice for historic information.
I recommend you search Mexican history on the open web, you will find tons of information.
Interesting history might be the Spanish colonization of Tenochtitlan.
The French, British and Spanish invasion (or intent) of Veracruz.
Maximiliano and the Castle of Chapultepec.
Benito Juarez (President of mexico).
Porfirio Diaz.(Another Mexican President)
How Santana sold most of Texas to the U.S.
The story of Pancho Villa.
The Alamo.
The Alhóndiga de Granaditos in Guanajuato and the history of the Pípila.
I don't know there are many years of history you can look up.

Wikipedia is a good choice.
My english is not good, soi can't give all the input i want.

Some interesting things about my country:

*When the spaindars came to Tenochtitlán (Mexico City) they find the aztec city 5 times bigger than the London of that century (and very more clean).
* Chocolate and Vanilla came from Mexico to Europe
* The eagle in our flag is the remain of the ancient leyend of the aztec prophesy

Read about the Mexican-American War in the link below.

Wikipedia is an OK resource, but there are many others. For example, check with web sites on western states such as California, Texas, New Mexico and observe the vast colonization of western America. The Spanish/Mexican influence and the Spanish Catholic church is enormous.

PS
everyone keeps talking about that Mayan Calandar thing...

Also, the ancient indians have some cool, violent, heart-ripping, canabalistic rituals that they inflicted on everyone.

More recently, a chupacabra was spotted, caught in the act of chewing through the border fence on his way to killing sheep and goats that American Chupacabras won't kill.
