What is the best all inclusive hotel in Cancun?

My husband and I are going for the first time, and are a little nervous about taxi fares, tourist traps, etc.....we just want a very low key trip to relax. May hit a few bars, but mainly plan on hanging out at the beach and enjoying the peace and quiet.

There are so many good hotels in Cancun. Any of the RIU's are good, the Palace's are always good, check out http://www.tripadvisor.com for recent updates and reviews.

I will second the post above me. My gf's family and I have been to moon palace the last 3 summers. Her brother got married down there a month ago. Easily the best all-inclusive you will find. Its not the typical high school grad lets get f'd up everynight and get laid resort. Its definitly more laid back, you will see more families, but its not loaded with little kids. There is alot to do, downtown cancun is a 10-15 drive from the resort, but really you dont need to leave the resort. The food has gotten better each year. It probably will not be the best food youve ever eaten, but i have really nothing bad to say about moon palace. They have trips to the clubs at night, just hop on a bus and they bring you back. Coco Bongo is a popular one to go to. But for what your looking for this is the place to go. The pool area is just rediculous. There is 3 huge pools and two of the connect and there is one seperate one that seems to be more for the partiers and drinkers. Id love to tell you more, but youll have to look into the place yourself. Im telling you, you will have a great time down there. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to relax

we stayed at the Grand Oasis. its all inclusive. they have 5 five restaurants, including a buffet breakfast so you always have a choice what to eat. there are bars right in the pool so you can hang by the pool & drink. We were told not to really go on the beach after a certain hour, thats when riff-raff try to exploit tourists. theres a bus that comes along on the main strip where all the hotels are,its not very expensive.I would take the bus instead of the taxi. Taxi drivers drive worse than in NYC. We went to a few bars. We also did a couple tourist things. We went on the Pirate dinner cruise. You go out on a large boat that resembles a pirate ship, pirates serve you drinks & dinner while performing a show, then you come upon another pirate boat & have to fight the other ship. It was expensive, but fun & worth it. Also we went to Isla de Mujeres as a day trip & went snorkeling at a small park. Afterward we were taken to a small town that was a giant flea market. Here we could buy things extremely inexpensive. My husband bought a silver bracelet for me that was hand crafted by the man that sold it to him. My husband even bartered for the price.

All Palace Resorts and All Riu Resorts are the best ones. try Riviera Maya for a great relaxing Holiday

Tammy R
I like the RIU Hotels and Gran Caribe Real. The Real Resorts also has a brand new resort that just opened this spring....never stayed there, but it looks very nice. Dreams is also a good one. It depends on how much money you want to spend. On the cheaper side is the Oasis resorts. I would suggest either RIU Cancun or Gran Costa Real. Taxis will rip you off so just expect it. I suggest taking the bus....only 65 pesos and will take you anywhere you want to go. I would suggest going to Coco Bongo for your bar.....Vegas style shows and very entertaining. I don't really know of any tourist traps.....just a lot of things to do and they all cost money. Margaritaville on Tuesday night is very good....and Pat O'Briens on Wednesday. I would suggest Coco Bongo on either Sunday or Monday. Any bar you hit will be fun.

Hi,
The best all-inclusive. For the times I've been to Cancun. I would avoid the Hotel Row in Cancun. You are a captive audience in this area. Try Playa del Carmen an $8.00 bus ride from the Cancun Airport. It will take you about an hour by bus and the bus will be first class. I like the Park Royal on Cozumel and there is one in Playa del Carmen. In Playa you will have the freedom to walk around the town and barter for all your gifts, on hotel row you will pay top dollar for everything you purchase. The Taxis are regulated as long as they have proper ID. you are safe. For my time with my wife we like the Park Royal on Cozumel. It's a 30 minutes boat ride from Playa del Carmen and a $4.00 Taxi ride to the hotel. The Park Royals are five star. If you like I can give you the email of my contact at the Park Royal and see what you think. Email me at Big Kat. We've been three times and are going back soon.
Enjoy.

i stayed at the casamagna marriot but idk if its all inclusive....at the marriot, they have 3 resturants(a breakfast buffet, a japenese place, and a sports resturant) the breakfast buffet is free though..but my cousin stayed at the park royal and that was all inclusive..but its not a good hotel becuase they are doing construction around it becuase of the hurricane that happened.

We stayed at the Riu Cancun, which is all-inclusive.

They had 4 restaurants from which to choose for dinner: Japanese, Mediterranean, a steakhouse, and a theme restaurant (it had a different type of food every night - Italian, Mexican, French, etc). All were very good. There was a huge breakfast buffet each morning with everything you could imagine to eat. There were 2 places open for lunch with burgers, hot dogs, pizza, pasta salad, and lots of other choices.

There are 4 pools, and one has a bar in it. Some of the others have a ledge with lounge chairs, so that the chairs are actually in the pool. Really nice!

There are several other bars, and they're all good. The drinks were great.

There is a theater with nightly entertainment, and a disco as well.

The beaches are really nice too.

The activity staff there really works hard to make sure everyone is having fun.

If we ever go back to Cancun, that's where we're going again. We had the best time!
