What is the best way to sanitize the drinking water in Mexico?
im going backpacking, and from what I understand, i need to steer clear of the drinking water. What is a practical and easy way to sanitize tap what in Mexico? I heard iodine tablets are an option, but after a while, wont the iodine start to hurt you? Is there an alternative?

We drink bottled water in Mexico. There are few places that don't carry it even in the jungle and back country. If all else fails, boil it.

You can go to any store and buy a bottle of purified water, you can find it anywhere!. In any restaurant ask for bottled water!

Nothing but simply boil the water. The only way to be safe on drinking water. Iodine is not good for your health. Will have side effect later on.
