Is mexican and spanish the same or two different languages?
...

matbro64

What is the quickest easiest way to learn spanish, not to reads it but rather to understand conversations.?

I don't want to no the alphabet or proper grammer. I want to learn to ask questions and understand there answer so when I go abroad I can communicate and talk to the locals. If I can learn the basics I can learn it as I go while in the country. I bought a couple of cds but they teach you boring grammer I just want to speak it.

The absolute best way to learn Spanish quickly is Rosetta Stone. You can find them online easily. They are, however, pricey.

The next best thing, I think, is to go to a thrift store or library book sale and find a Spanish text, or primer, and find those basic questions and drill them. I think that might be the way for you to go before visiting.

Have a great trip!

~*~ Full Immersion into the language and the culture.. That is the fastest and easiest way to learn it. You will find yourself forced to learn it out of necessity. It will keep you focused. Forget about cd's, books and classrooms. The answer here is Full Immersion. ~*~

sorry but you have to learn the whole thing if you weren't born into it. so try elanguageschool.net

Hunny, to speak it you NEED to know grammar, tenses, etc.

A good site you can use is speak7.com - very helpful with all the basics.

Also, visit some spanish news websites such as yahoo.es and read the headlines, translate them at freetranslation.com.

Listen to spanish music, too.

It's easy! Good luck!

When you are submersed in the language it is alot easier. You can learn the basics from any class but it needs to be practiced frequently.

Pity you didnt bother to learn english first but to answer your question move to spain or any other spanish speaking country. oh and by the way YOU HAVE TO LEARN THE GRAMMER OR YOU WILL NEVER SPEAK IT PROPERLY
