There is a social structure pertty similar to that in the U.S.

High, middle and low classes.

1. The high class used to be all-white (WASP) and is having a little more heterogenous mix lately. People from high class tend to study at private colleges, live in big houses with large yards, go clubbing, play golf, do yatching, have nanies and maids. have all the services and high tech toys. One or two parents work.(typically families with 2 or 3 kids with a starting at a $150,000 yearly income.) Use private medical care.

2. Middle class go to college, live in medium size houses and appartments, have middle prize cars, play sports like football and soccer, attend primarily private schools, have Cable T.V. and all services. Some have small family owned businesses or work for other companies. One or two parents work. (typically families with 2 or 3 kids starting at a $20,000 yearly income.) Use both private and public medical care. Travel nationally and speak English or some other language.

3. Low class usually rent a small department in suburbs, use public transportation, may have a TV, go to public schools untill elementary or middle high school. Work as secretaries, police officers, maida, and the like, mostly technical professions. One or two parents work. (typically 2 or 3 families with 3 to 5 kids living in a house, starting at a $2,000 yearly income per family.) Use government medical care.

4. The poor live in a suburban area around a city or in arural area without services. In the same house there are grandparents, all their children and children in-law and all their kids. Eat basic meals, mostly eggs, tortillas, and beans. Have poor medical care. Work as janitors, construction worker assistants, trash pickers, and the like, have so many children that te woman usually doesn't work. (These are the ones who immigrate to the USA, they have nothing to loose, and have no chance whatsoever to grow in Mexico). Similar to the population in trailer parks in U.S. Have no education and are illiterate.

5. Besides these classes are the indigenous population which live in poverty (no services) but have tranquility and sustainable rural lives.

More than 100,000,000 people live in Mexico. It would be impossible to say a kind of people. We have 32 states, at least 100 big cities, 30 millions of poor people, 1 million of rich people, South and North, East and West, cold and hot, it would be impossible to make a generalization.

Maybe you can come and see, but you would have to travel for months, and maybe you would be able to write a whole encyclopedia about Mexico, and not only an essay for your Spanish class.

Hope this was a little helpfull to you!
