I would choose Los Cabos if deep sea fishing was an important part of the vacation.
I would choose Acapulco if seeing the cliff divers was an important part of the vacation.
I would choose Puerto Vallarta if beaches or dining and dancing was an important part of the vacation.
I would choose Cozumel if SCUBA or SCUBA certification was an important part of the vacation.
Cancun has all of the above (except cliff divers) plus a lot more. It just depend on what you want to do. See the links below for thing to do at each place. |

You could have fun in any of them. It kind of depends on what you want to do and what kind of traveler you are. Also, keep in mind that as the summer wears on, you run the risk of hurricanes in areas like Cancun and Cozumel. (Lower risk on Pacific coast).
Of the places you mention, I like Cancun better in terms of the quality of beaches and the water conditions for sports like scuba, snorkling, swimming, etc. I like Puerto Vallarta in terms of ambience, quality of local restaurants, and overall bang for the buck.
