Take your own currency and exchange it for pesos as soon as you get there. Keep some US dollars but spend mainly Mexican pesos. If you try to pay with dollars some people will try to overcharge you. |

Just use pesos, you're going to be in Mexico.
Plus if you use dollars everyone uses the exchange rate to their advantage. |

If you are going to border places (such as Tijuana) or places with a lot of tourism (like Cancun) most people will take dollars. However, you run the risk of getting a very bad exchange rate.
If you are going to places in central Mexico, major cities, or places that are not specially touristic (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City) youll be much better taking pesos. |

if you have pesos the best option take them, dollar with the change of currency mmm... not sure for me the best is credit card they only take the actual currency, but also depends where you go? and have fun! |
