What to bring on vacation to Mexico?

I'm going on an 11 day trip to mexico from mexico city to cancun. we're hitting up all the mayan ruins and major archeological sites, as well as xcaret and the beach in cancun, what should i bring?

I am retired in Acapulco..........
A small backpack . Best way to travel.
Ipod. Got to have my tunes..........
Camera with rechargable or spare batteries.
Flash drive to store photos on when you max out your cameras memory.
Spanish english/spanish dictionary.
Sunglass's.
Candy to make friends with the children.
Copies of your passport and ID.
Flip flops and beach towel
Sunscreen - its expensive here.
A smile.
Binoculars never hurt.

Comfortable shoes or boots. Water purification tablets, just in case. Lightweight rain poncho, just in case. Flashlight and batteries. Money. Pretty much anything you might need you can purchase there. If you don't speak Spanish one of those little phrase books can be handy.

Camera with A LOT of memory for pictures
Sunscreen ( If you're gonna hit the ruins make sure it's a good sunscreen)
Snorkle Gear
Swim Short
Hygene (Razor, Tooth brush, Comb, Gel, Shampoo)
Nice clothes for clubs ( if you're gonna hit the clubs for a night)
