What to buy for a mother in law who lives in Mexico? |
I don't know many people who can say this, but my mother-in-law is just the greatest. When I moved to Mexico with her son she welcomed me into her house with open arms and never judged me for being "different'. She went way beyond hospitable to help me adjust to their culture and while I'm back in the states I'd like to buy her a present to bring back to her, just to let her know how much I appreciate everything she's done for me but I have no idea what I should get her....really, NO idea. Something a little special.....??? Any ideas? Additional Details Hey Mikey!!! As always, I love your answers, haha. |

I live in Acapulco with my wife and her mother. If she loves to cook as much as my "suegra" she will love a very nice blender to make all the wonderful tasty salsa's. |

if she bought you something, it would probably be something traditional from mexico.
buy her something from your home state.
if she likes to cook, buy her a local cook book.
OR
a nice pashima.
depending on your budget.
jewelery. |

I think anything you can get for her it will be "special", you may try to remember what she does not have at home. It does not have anything super expensive.
Good luck Jessy |

My mother in law also lives in Mexico and when I shop for her I always look for something she can use in the kitchen or something to beautify her home. Those are her two favorite things to do, cook and pretty her house! Look for something that your mother in law would be able to use or see every day and she will be sure to love it! |

Mikey is a person special. For my adopted family -for MAMA - I cannot get personal. I take things for the family as a whole. The family is very large and most live in La Penita . As you know, electronics are much more dear in Mex. and in many places they have HDTV. However, I have always attempted to See / Listen to what said and drop a hint that it might show up @ navidad. As you know, it's not big bucks that matters, but if you can give what is out of reach for the family, it will make mama's heart warm. Mama has two parts of her heart even if she is wealthy. Put your mind and heart in hers. Bueno suerte' . J |
