I have a ton of paper money from Mexico which are VERY old.
It was from when my grandparents passed though Mexico a long time ago. (They are not Mexican though) so they don't remember how much its worth in American money,
But, how much is a 5000 Peso in American money?
If its really old money can i still go to Mexico to use it????
I've never been out of my state, Illinois, so I really have no idea about any other areas money.

yay im from illinois too haha butThe Mexican Peso was revalued on January 1, 1993. Pesos dated before that date are 1000 times less valuable than the New Mexican Pesos so if you got 5000 old ones its worth 5 new pesos and thats only like 40 cents...also you cant use the old pesos in mexico anymore hope this helped! =) |

That money is not worth anymore, you can try in a Mexican Bank but before everything had 3 more zeros
so 5000 pesos could be like 5 pesos now, around 50 US cents |

Don't waste your time waiting in a line at a bank. Not only are 1,000 old pesos equal to only one current peso, the time to exchange them expired more than 15 years ago. |

It depends on exactly how old it is. Check this website to see if it's exchangeable. If it is, then you'll get no more than 5 pesos for it. About .30 american cents.

i just came back from mexico and the money over there is 15 peso to $1. so ur 5000 peso is about $333 and i think u can still use it if its old money |
