What to order at bar of All-Inclusive Resort?

I always order diet coke & rum when I go to bars. I'm pretty sick of them, but I'm too scared to try anything new. I am going to an all-inclusive resort tonight in Mexico for 3 nights. What are some simple and tasty drinks I should order? I want them to be simple so that there are no difficulties when I order. I would like to try some frozen drinks, too, but I was told not to order too many pina coladas!

What are your favorite drinks?
Additional Details
How do I know if it's included in my package, or an additional price? I don't want to look cheap, but I don't want to accidentally order an expensive drink! (So I guess I am cheap, I just don't want to look cheap!)

If it's an all-inclusive package you pay for NOTHING. Everything is already included in your package price. You can order anything you want to drink and eat.
While everyone is recommending the same thing here are some different ideas that will be new to you..
A ticket to fly
Scoobie doo snack
La Cucaracha
Miami Vice
Also, a little tip for you... since it's all-inclusive and tipping is not required it is recommended you do so and you will be taken very good care of. If you just tip a few dollars here and there your bartender will become your best friend and he will constantly make up new drinks for you to try.

Keep in mind that all-inclusive does not include top shelf liquors or expensive imported beers. They'll be using the regular bar stuff. Having said that, too much of anything will make you sorry, but pina coladas, rumrunners, mai tais (pronounced my ties), and bottled rather than on tap beers are all fun. Also, you can ask your bartender what he/she enjoys making that's included in your package. Let them have some fun!

EDIT: Stay away from specifically ordering top shelf liquors. For example: don't ask for a Grey Goose Martini. That's top shelf. Also, when in doubt, watch what other people are doing, especially the ones you meet who've been there before. Have a good time!

I love Margaritas, and if you don't like tangy taste try a Strawberry or another fruit Margarita! Being in Mexico they will have great "ritas"

Long Island Ice Teas are GOOD. Just be careful, they catch-up to you quick. Hope this helps.

If you like Pina Coladas, try ordering them with vodka instead of rum. The vodka won't hit you as hard, and this way you can have more.

You should also order a Miami Vice (pina colada mixed with strawberry daquiri) They are delicious! Mojitos are also delicious. They are a mix of mint and lime. Blue lagoons are always my favorite. They are a mix of sprite, coconut, and some blue flavor. I'm not too sure what all is in them, but they are fantastic! Also, you could order a mimosa (champagne and orange juice) for breakfast. Most people don't think they will serve them but every all inclusive I have ever been to in Mexico has them.Kahlua and creams (brown cows) are a tradition in the cancun area. Whatever you do, don't drink white tequila. One sip will make you sick to your stomach.

You can also try a mango daquiri, and a melon sour.
Strawberry margaritas are delicious as well, and a classy twist on the traditional drink.

All of your drinks will be included, unless you order a top shelf liquor. You will be given a wrist band upon check in, and with this bracelet you can get whatever you want, whenever you want it.

Have fun =)

While in Mexico you must try Margaritas, although Pina coladas are also very tasty. Seriously though tequila is the main liquor in Mexico and Margaritas can be order frozen or on the rocks, both are my fav.

If it's all-inclusive then it's all-inclusive. I've been to at least 5 in Mexico and I live here in Guadalajara so I know how it works. You seriously can get ANYthing you want.

The crappy thing in Cancun is that it is SUCH a touristy place that they will always expect tips. While I might sound really cheap by saying that, it really is not the norm in Mexico at all and frankly it has ruined the Cancun experience for me. I'd much rather go to an all-inclusive in Puerto / Nuevo Vallarta or in Mazatlan.

Anyway, one of MY personal favorites is the 'Paloma,' which is basically just Tequila and Squirt Soda. Very tasty.

But you will see when you get there, they'll have a huge menu above the bar with a list of frozen drinks, etc.. that they can make for you and you can order as much of whatever you want.

Have Fun!

Be careful with the margaritas. I remember the first time I went they had no idea what a strawberry margarita was and all they had were lime ones. They are good, but SOUR! Everyone I know goes for the Miami Vices (which seem to be the most popular) , Tequila Sunrise, Mai Tais and Piña Coladas. The reason you may want to expirement is because they tend to be quite sweet and after too many, your stomache may get a little sore, but it all depends on you.

you need to try a Margarita if youre in Mexico...I was there last year and had more than my share of them! My normal drink at home is gin and tonic, but you may not like that taste. Because its an all inclusive resort, you can experiment. If you dont like your drink, dont drink it! You havent paid for it, so its not a big deal.

There is also nothing wrong with asking the bartender for his recommendations. They often have a specialty drink that they are happy to share with their customers.

You'll be given a wristband to wear at the resort. That will tell staff that youre on the all-inclusive package. They will tell you if you order something not included in your package. I never paid for a drink the whole week I was there... the bar brand liquor was just fine

Have fun!
