Call these cabs, they look like regular cars and you can rent them by day, which would be much cheaper than the Airport Cab and they can cross states (regular cabs cannot carry passengers from one state to another and then take them back.)
Taxis: 2603-2503, 2603-3268 or 5660-1122, 9171-8888.
They'll give you a password so that you know it's the taxi you asked for, ask for the driver's identification as soon as you get on it.
It's pretty safe, not so expensive, and the fastest way (even faster than renting a car since they know the routes). |

The bus is a nice idea but I'd rather recommend to rent a car. Driving in that part of the country is quite safe by day and the landscape is gorgeous. |

Hi. I don't recommend that you rent a car. It's really hard to find the high way to Valle de Bravo, and when you find it is really dangerous. The bus is a idea, but it will take you forever to get there, last time i did it took me 8 hours to get to the city. The thing you can do is go in a Cab leaving from Santa Fe. When you get to the Airport you can take a Cab to get to Santa Fe, and if you going to stay in a hotel in Mexico they can fix you a cab or a driver to take you there. These is more expensive than the other two choices, but is the fastest way to do it. |

From the airport you can take a Bus to the town of Toluca.
The bus line's name is Caminante. it is an hour and a half and costs 100 peso's
Once in Toluca you can catch the Valle de Bravo bus at gate 6, it takes one hour from there, I dont know how much that fare is.
Enjoy your stay!
The best website for all the bus options out of Mexico city airport is
http://www.larpman.com/transportpages/buspages/busairport.html
You should also look at the rest of his site, I have found it very helpful.

A cab or depending on size of luggage, the metro. |

I recommend Caminante. Renting a car would be a horrific experience; traffic and unmarked roads are extremely hard on me and I've been here for a year. I live in Toluca and I always use Caminante to get to and from the airport in Mexico City, it is very easy and cheap. Although I haven't taken a bus to Valle de Bravo I don't think I would be too difficult.
Have fun! |
