Whats better, Spain or Mexico? |
When I travel, I dont want to go to one of the technology infested places if you know what I mean. :( I want to go to the really culturistic places in mexico and spain. you know, really get the feel of the place, the culture, the people. So, for this kind of "culturistic" :) place, which is better, Spain, or Mexico?

I have only been to Spain once for 3 weeks and I had a great time. Now I spend 1-2 months a year in Mexico. It is great. I do have to say that in Mexico, it was cheaper, the people are much more friendlier towards Americans and Mexico has a variety of things to see. If its culture, I recommend Merida Yucatan, Chitchinitza, Mexico City, Guadalajara, San Cristobal, Valldolid... the list goes on. Since you can stretch you money more in Mexico, stay longer and travel within the country. They have an excellent bus system, https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/eng/index.jsp , go either luxury or first class only. Its a cheap and comfortable way to travel. We take the bus at night and sight see by day. Saves us on hotel rental. It's very safe.
Depending on how much culture, and what type will determine where you travel in Mexico. Mexico is huge and the population varies since it is mixed with Indian blood and Spanish. Plus, they have pretty much 2 social classes, upper and lower. What do you want to see? Mountains, dessert, beaches, jungle? Do you want museums or pyramids?
As you can tell, I love Mexico. Personally, the one place I would like to return to with friends is the San Cristobal area. Its in the state of Chiapas, up in the Mountains. Alot to see, pyramids, waterfalls, scenery!
Have fun wherever you decide! |

I went to Spain 2 years ago,it was BEAUTIFUL.
I am going to Mexico in 9 days . If money plays a role , In mexico you will get more for less money because 1 dollar= around 10 pesos . In spain, they use Euros. 1 dollar = 0.6407 euros. plus the airfare . But Spain was absolutley amazing, the sand was nice, the beaches, the people too I have no words for how beautiful it was. |

Usually money plays a part in some of these decisions, and Mexico is considerably more affordable than Spain.
Spain has an incredible history of cultural interaction over the millenium. You have early iberian cave paintings and dwellings, Phoenician outposts, Roman cities, Moslem cities, Renaissance cities, and some modern day marvels. The cuisine is equal to Italian and French yet is not as well known. Sometimes you can travel back and forth thousands of years in a trip of less than 50 miles. Because tourism in some fashion has been going on for nearly 200 years, Spain has spent more money to maintain it's tourist sites.
That said, Mexico is severely overlooked as a country for cultural travel. Guanajato is one of the crown jewels as is Puebla and Oaxaca.
The downtown of Guadalajara is like one giant museum. Guadaljara has a major airport outside of the city with good connections to many American cities (I don't think connections are as good from Canada).
There's an intercity bus terminal right in the Mexico City airport. There are buses to Puebla every half hour if you don't want to deal with Mexico City.
Oaxaca is very inexpensive to fly to from the Tijuana airport (one stop flights). If Tijuana is not an option, then there is a daily connection through Houston, and several options via Mexico City airport. The problem with the Houston flight is that it leaves early in the morning making connections difficult (it used to fly only four days a week). |

I really recommend you to go to Mexico it's very Culturistic
You shouldn't go to Mexico City it's "infested of technology"
You should go to Puebla, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes or Hidalgo They're kind of colonial cities you can enjoy typical Mexican food and you can meet some "charros" this guys whit a super big hats |

I have already answered on the other one, but Maria is right!... I didn't mention you will do quite a lot more with less money on México, and Riviera Maya has a lot of this little chic boutique hotels. |
