Be very careful: While walking through Mexico, tourists are offered drugs (cocaine, herb, prescription drugs...) in the streets. This happened to me, and I had read about it before hand: These are undercover police officers that approach young people (20's-30's).
Make sure you always say no. The only way to get drugs (if that's what you want) would be to ask a person from the hotel. Someone from the entertainment staff at your resort, for example. |

the safe thing to assume is what's illegal in the US, is illegal in mexico. NO drugs are not legal. NO prostitution is not legal. YES mexican jails are a nightmare and YES you are guilty until proven innocent. |

carrying any class a drug is a criminal offence and you can be prosecuted for it. As for prostitution, its not illegal to sell your body for money but it is to advertise it and looking for it is too (kerb crawling) |
