All around, I would say Cuernavaca, Morelos. It is a small (but growing quickly) city just south of Mexico City. The weather, people and embiance of Cuernavaca, makes this city me go back every year. |

My hubby is from Tepatitlan de Morelos...a little town about 45 minutes outside of Guadalajara. It is known as the town of "eternal spring"....always nice weather.
Very very little crime. A strong community of Catholics. Tequila is big there. Unfortunately, a lot of drug cartel people like to take their vacations there, but I guess they keep a low profile. Also known for their European-looking white women. It goes by just Tepatitlan now, or as he lovingly calls it: "Tepa". |

Ask that question to 10 different Mexicans and you will get 10 different answers. BTW, Aguascalientes is not anywhere near a beach.
My favorites are: Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Puebla, Morelia, Oaxaca, Cuernavaca....the Colonial cities with great weather. |

Cuernavaca, Morelos is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for a central location. Cuernavaca is about an hour and half bus ride from Mexico City- about 2 1/2 hours from the ancient ruins at Teotihuacan, 4 hours from Acapulco, and there are many fascinating towns like Taxco and Tepoztlan only 1 to 2 hours away. Cuernavaca is a relatively safe location also, it's not as urban as Mexico City but there are a lot of restaurants and shops along with the normal markets and side stands that you would see in a rural town. |

Well.....
My favorites are Cuernavaca. Cuernavaca is nice because the people are nice but there is not much to do if you are looking for a real touristy time. There are some interesting places like Palacio de Cortes, and El Jardin Borda. Those are my two favorites. |

Best..... for what??? For vacations? Living? Studying?? You need to be more specific..... I could tell you about at least 3 different cities but "the best" would depend on what you're interested in doing there.
And for the person who said Aguascalientes had a beach...... man, you need to look at a map...!!!!! That city is WAY FAR AWAY from the beach........!!!!! you need to learn some geaography....... |
