If you fly, you need a passport NOW. If you travel by LAND or SEA, passports are not needed until after SUMMER 2008...the date was pushed back. See website below and read top half of page carefully for CURRENT info.

Yes, you do need a valid passport. If your passport is going to expire, then please go to the nearest post office and fill out the renewal form otherwise you won't be able to travel.

Starting in Jan 08 you will need a passport to return from Canada or Mexico regardless of your transportation, unless ICE and Customs change their minds again at the last minute.

The LATEST NEWS... as of Monday 10th Dec. 2007, the passport requirement for U.S. citizens re-entering the U.S. BY LAND... i.e., car, truck. tour bus or walking... has been MOVED BACK to JUNE 2008... The passport requirements for people arriving back in the U.S. by boat or plane have not changed.
