After October, around November. The weather is nice and warm and hurricane season is over. I'd say the best time is between NOVEMBER AND MAY.

Apart from hurricanes, also wait until a while AFTER the rainy season ( I made the mistake of going in late November last year and was eaten alive by sand fleas, the concierge at the resort said that was due to going just after the seasonal rains which is when the hatchlings all woke up and decided to attack my feet). I'd say you'd be safe by mid-December.

my daughter asked that 2 years a go and was told any time after September - she went October for her honeymoon and got caught up in hurricane Wilma. She is still in contact with a few people from Cancun and they say dont come as the place is not worth it for a few years with building work etc

April to June is the best time. I have visited in august and found it to be rainey. I got married in December and was also rainey and not to hot. I then went in april about 4 times and love it. but you must go during easter week. My inlaws went in july and said it was too hot. my brother just went in june and loved it.
