Hello, well I have some information for you, I'm Mexican and fortunately in the city where I live even though there seem to be suspicious cases my family, friends and all people I know remain healthy, i think is because of the media people started panicking and thinking they had the symptoms when they don't, it's quite strange that some people said to be infected after being in holidays in Cancun, but so far and this updated information Cancun hasn't even reported people with suspicious cases of the swine flu, it's clean, the whole country is taking all the necessary actions so as not to get infected such as washing your hands frequently and stay away from people who cough or sneeze, NOW as for your question, believe me I am real interested to know too, since my boyfriend is Scottish and planning to come in July, I phone myself to a health organisation to ask this because when i heard all the flights were cancelled my heart stopped, they answered that even though right now we are even in a higher level of the epidemic that practically is a pandemic now , all normal activities are planned to be back to normals since May th 6th, so it seems they will control it, they say they really think by July will be perfectly under control, so if you are flying to Mexico in October I think you will be more than safe, please pray this flu is over soon because i really want my boyfriend to come over in summer, i know right now many people are scared but believe i'm here and healthy, this is a beautiful country with nice and not so nice parts as everywhere else, but in Mexico people always open your arms to everyone, and it really hurts now it seems no-one likes it anymore, I really hope you decide to come and enjoy the greatest time ever, i really think it will be absolutely controlled by then, i mean there's so much technology in the world, medicine is quite advanced as well so, we will be fine and ready to receive you in Mexico, please feel welcome and not scared to come, like i said the very health national organisation i phoned said it will be safe to travel in july and obviously in October too. have a nice day, after all swine flu it's just a stronger flu, there's medicine for it, people that are being treated with tamiflu here are recovering pretty well, i think the media has created a massive panic. hope this info. has helped. have a great day!!!. |

There is NO Health RISK in the Cancun area at all. There are NO Travel Alerts are issued for this area at all. Cancun is open and doing business as usual. The strong swine type of flu is all over the world now, not just Mexico City. The W.H.O. says, "To restrict travel would be useless and not helpful".
