We can say the masses goes to Acapulco that is quite popular...but u can go to a different place every weekend really
it depends on what u like. Near to most cities are balnerarios so people can go to swim. U can go to rivers, u can even go to practice eco turism in places like Veracruz or Hidalgo, and practice different sports of adventure. Beaches...well we have plenty of them...colonial cities such as Guanajuato or Morelia are very popular as well. U can also go to arqueologic sites such as Teotihuacan, Monte Alban, Uxmal etc...or u can go to Mexico city ...
Many young people likes to go to international festivals such as the Cervantino in Guanajuato or the international cine festival in Morelia...well to be honest there are so many things to do in Mexico |

We go to the beach Acapulco, or Cuernavaca which is a city with warm weather, those are the 2 most common.
In not those, beaches like Cancun or Playa del Carmen |

well we go to any mexican beach and any city in the states... as I am from the north of mexico (Monterrey) I can go to Texas in 3 hours by driving... so many people go to south Padre Island, Tampico,
and if you have more money... well Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami are common options. |

While mexicans could go anywhere (we can go to Cuba BTW), mexicans that live in Mexico City like to go to Cuernavaca and Acapulco the most for weekend vacations. |

My family lives in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, and they own a vacation home next door to my parents' house here in Austin, Texas. So they travel regularly to Texas - especially San Marcos for the outlet malls. They also travel to Florida for Disneyworld, have been all over Europe, and traveled a bit in the U.S. such as NYC, Las Vegas, Miami, all over Texas, and Cali (Disneyland, San Diego, etc.).
And, they do go home to Mexico when they are done traveling! (Lucky me - I've been invited to travel with them so I know all the places they've been to without spending a dime of my money!) |
