Cancún is tourist beach destination devoloped in the '70s by the mexican government located in the northern part of Quintana Roo state, in México; at the mexican caribbean sea. The only mexican state that has cost in the caribbean is Quintana Roo state, which is located on the eastern part of Yucatán penninsula, in southern México.
So, Cancún is in the caribbean sea, at the Yucatan peninsula, at Quintana Roo state, at México!

It's in a very tropical area of Mexico, on the Yucatan Penninsula. It's very different from the rest of Mexico. It faces the south west Gulf of Mexico and is more of a vacation, resort area than anything else. It has alot of problems with hurricanes that enter the Gulf of Mexico and has been hit many times. When hurricanes enter the Gulf of Mexico they go to Florida, the gulf coast of the US, Texas, or the Yucatan Penninsula, which is very close to Texas.
