Where is a good Mexican beach / vacation location that isn't overrun with tourists?
Cancun and Cozumel are like tourist city...any lesser known beaches / vacation locations?
Anywhere on the Baja would be good. Although Cabo San Lucas is the same as cancun/cozumel as far as tourists go, as you go out farther the beaches becomes almost deserted. San Jose del Cabo is quieter. Come to think of it, the whole Baja is surrounded by a beach so even if you stay in the more touristy areas, all you have to do is drive 10 minutes and you won't see another white person all day!

Check out 'Sayulita', 30 min N. of the Puerta Vallerta airport. Just cross the main street & wait for a "Sayulia bus" Only 20 pesos. Sayuliya was a laid back fishing village & now a renown surfing destination.
There are several bungalo type housing accomidations for those on the cheap. Great street food & don't miss Choco Bananas for breakfast. Rollie's is another great b'fast spot for the hearty appetite. English speaking AA meets Tu-Th-Sa @ 6:30pm. Enjoy your visit . . .

Puerto Escondido, with some tourists, but a few minutes drive to Puerto Angel with virtually none. Also nearby is the lagoon Manialtepec, which is wonderful.

You need a map... and decide what kind of sea you want so see...Baja California is a good options..there are many beaches in small towns which are not touristic.. the caribbean is crowded 1st, because is beautiful.. but Cancun is just a beach.. there are many many beaches to stay away from the crowd... again..Jalisco State has many good beaches too it depends of your budget...there are some hidden paradises...you can find from 1* to 5* all over Mexico..good luck
