Where to vacation at in Mexico?

I am in the process of planning a trip to Mexico sometime after summer school either in mid july or early august. It will either be a girls vacation or a fun romantic get away with the boyfriend so I am wanting to know what would be the hot spot to go to no matter who i go with. I am of course looking for an inexpensive spot but I want to be able to enjoy everything it has to offer. I would like to do the night life clubs, nice sandy beautiful beach, purchase inexpensive items (designer label stuff), and of course be in a safe location. I would like some detailed information from someone who has had previous experience. We are planning on taking a plane and I guess rely on taxi's or buses for transportation. Also any input on hotels that are close by alot of attractions but not so expensive so we can avoid alot of far traveling. Websites will be appreciated also and any other information that can be given. ****College student in early 20's that is on a budget if that helps****

Cancun is beautiful - don't get me wrong !!! I call it " gringo ville " - enough said !!!

Acapulco has something in all price ranges - thats the reason mexicans vacation here.

I'd recommend for ultimate weather choose anytime beteewn November and April. This is the rainy / hurricane season and that means pop up thunderstorms that will chase you off the beach. Its HUMID as hell now and mosquitos are rampant. Just not the ultimate time - but you have your reasons.

If you want more on everything Acapulco Im your man. I can put you in a good little hotel ,$50 a night , half mile of beach , Wal Mart , KFC , Mc Donalds , Baby - O's. Got a pool and is just a cool little hotel.
I can help you on all things Acapulco..............link over to me and give me your e mail

i would totally have to agree with a guy that answered before me....Guanajuato (the city) is a great place...it obviously doesn't have any coastline but it is very romantic if your going with your bf and still fun because they have a really good nightlife and it pretty much is a University city ( a lot of university students) and its really safe.
if you want to go to the beach then i would hit up Ixtapa, its really nice, has a good nightlife, and is less busy then Cancun or Acapulco.

you should look up more information on wikitravel...they are pretty good with letting you know what to do, how to get around, where to eat...etc

I agree. Cancun is wonderful. I'd recommend the Palace resorts. There's the Moon Palace, the Sunrise palace, the Beach palace and tons more. The cool thing is, they are all unique and all-inclusive. If you stay at one of them, you have all-inclusive access to all of them!

Look beaches in summer are going to be so expensive!!!!, but if romance is what you are looking for I recommend gunajuato capital or san miguel de allende, gto I know I know no beach what so ever but prices are so much cheaper, everything is in walking distance, they are know for 2 of the most beautiful cities in the world and romance is in the air, all the people are super nice, and crime is very little, if safety is a concern to 2, make sure to learn some Spanish so you wont end up been just a stupid tourist!!! have fun and good luck

Go to Mazatlan. Beautiful beaches and you really get to feel like you're in Mexico. So many good restaurants, great bars, and great beaches . Stay at El Cid, it has the best entertainment!!! Book a package and you'll be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel and you will be taken from the hotel back to the airport also. Check out the aquarium, they have a great sea lion show!
