Which hotel can you recommend in Sonora, Mexico? |
I'm planning a trip to Guadalajara, Jalisco from California and I'm planning to stop and call it a night in and around Hermosillo, Guaymas or Ciudad Obregon. It depends on the time and how tired I am. I'm looking for a hotel close to the main highway 15 and won't cost me more than $100 a night. Any suggestions |

I always stop in Empalme and Tepic driving down. Just as you enter Empalme on your right there are 3 motels ... 1st and 3rd are higher priced but probably less than $100. The one in the middle is more like $35 ... and it works well for me.
Tepic ... hard to describe. Past town headed towards the airport (on hyway 15). A good sized Pemex on the other side of the hyway (your left) ... and there is a nice little motel right next to it. Also heard there is a Holiday Inn on the hyway in Tepic but haven't found it.
Mazatlan to Tepic is a ***** ... and don't drive at night |

IN HERMOSILLO THERE IS A HOTEL CALL SAN______ HOTEL. IT IS VERY NICE AND SECURITY AND IT IS NEAR THE EXIT OF HERMOSILLO. IN GUAYMAS,,,, THERE IS A TOLL ROAD, SO STAY IN HMO. BETTER. BUT IN GUAYMAS, THE ARMADA HOTEL IS NICE AND 40 DLLS. BREAKFEAST ARE GOOD THERE. IN OBREGON, I CAN NOT REMEMBER THE NAME, BUT THE SIGN IS GREEN AND IT COST 30 DLLS. BUT IT IS VERY CLEAN AND NICE ROOMS. ALL 3 HAVE VERY GOOD SECURITY.
NONE OF THESE ARE MORE THAN 40 DLLS. AND YOU CAN SLEEP VERY WELL.
I HOPE YOU GO TO GUADALAJADA THRU NOGALES AND SAVE ALOT OF MONEY AND PAITENCE THEN GOING THRU BAJA. GO THRU AZ. DOWN TO NOGALES AND YOU'RE 6 HRS. TO HMO. OR 9 TO OBREGON. |
