If you want crazy night life, try Acapulco.
I myself personally prefer Mazatlan which has cleaner beaches, beautiful sunsets and a beautiful traditional city/port. And the food!!!! Also, it is less expensive than Acapulco. Breakfasts at the Panama Cafe are sinful!!! You can also cross to Los Cabos or La Paz on a night ferry and spend the day on the Peninsula. |

I wouldn't be able to tell you which is better. I can tell you that both places are awesome! Mazatlan has a lot of history, and Acapulco its beautiful beaches. It seems like you're going to have to arrange a two-week vacation trip...one week in Acapulco, another week in Mazatlan. They're both awesome! |

Acapulco is better... i read above beaches are nasty, but it depends what beaches you visit... Acapulco is much bigger and that entails all the things of a big city... Mazatlan is not small, but it is not as corrupted as Acapulco. As a family go to mazatlan... let your teens go to acapulco on a future spring break! |
