Cancun and Cabo San Lucas are both very nice. The night life in Puerto Vallarta is wild and would be much more fun for single looking for another single than for a couple.

It depends. The best beach is Cancun, but both Cancun and Cabo are like American resorts.

PV has a great nightlife and the downtown area (El Centro) is very much authentic Mexican in feel.

I think PV offers the best of both worlds although the beach isn't as nice.

And the winner is....... Puerto Vallarta

Personally, I find that Cabo and Cancun are so americanized that you might as well go to Miami. Go for Puerta Vallarta!

I hated Cabo! Puerto Vallarta is a very easy going town. I absolutely love it! Cancun is more tropical i think, with crystal clear water. My husband is from Mexico and Cancun is his favorite!

I've been to Puerto Vallarta a couple of times now and it is a lot fun. There are many things to do and they have these huge awesome night clubs there. But Cabo San Lucas is absolutely beautiful. I would go there so that the two of you can relax and enjoy the scenery. There are also many things to do there and Cabo seems to be a bit more Americanized because of all the tourists that visit. Which ever place you decide to go to I know you will have a blast. All 3 places are known to be very beautiful places in Mexico. Have fun!!!

I've never been to Cancun. I like Puerto Vallarta but I liked Cabo better.

Cancun has the best beaches and many clubs and restaurants. Cabo San Lucas has the night life but some of the beaches aren't swimmable but plenty of nightlife. I think Puerto Vallarta will give you a mix of nice beaches and nightlife. It reminds me of the old Mexico with a face lift, if you know what I mean. So my vote goes to Puerto Vallarta. There is seclusion, tourism bustle and something in between. We stayed in the southern part, it was more secluded. But we did go into town. Loved it.

Have a great trip and enjoy.

Cabo san lucas...

I've been many times to all 3, but call me biased I love Cabo the most.

All 3 have the same nightlife, all three have the same activities or at least similar, same food, same knicknacks, same atmosphere. Cabo is more desert like, Cancun is humid and tropical, and PV is a mixture of the two. Swimming/snorkeling in the bathtub warm carribean ocean is way better, as the pacific ocean can be a bit rough with an slight undertow. Most of the resorts have lovely pool areas so it doesn't really matter.

Some people say of the 3 that Cabo is the most expensive. I would agree. Cabo is the playground to the rich and famous. Most fly down on there jet for the weekend from LA. PV is the cheapest of the 3.

If this is your first experience in Mexico then any of the 3 will be great. p.s. June is the start of hurricane season and with a la nina developing, it may be a crazy year for storms on both the pacific and carribean side.

I say neither, out of all three PV was awesome but if you just want RR theres alot of little coastal villages near all cities. I visited recently Yelapa which is about 45min boat ride from PV. It reminded me of those coraona comercials. Plus you can always go back into one the major cities for the day.
