I personally love Cozumel. We went there about six years ago and had a great time. it's not super touristy but has lots of attractions and a decent night life and amazing resorts. It's close to cancun too so if you want to experience that you have the option.

Puerto Vallarta is a great choice. It is safe, the little town is very nice, very typical. There are lots of activities to do (snorkel, horseback riding, ecotours, canopy, paraseiling, silver shopping, surfing, golf), exquisite restaurants and great nightlife.

Definitely Cancun. It is absolutely gorgeous, but it is really expensive.
Another option is Acapulco. It is not as expensive as Cancun, and it is also nice...
Whether if you go to Acapulco or Cancun, I recommend you to stay in a Mayan Palace Hotel. They're the best resorts you could ever find in Mexican beaches. |

my husband and I just got back from Mexico....we have been to several places and Playa del Carmen is our fav. It's about 30 mins from Cancun and great beaches. Tulum is also a great place it's just further from all the attractions. |

You're asking which is the best beach CITY in Mexico, right? Well, for me it could be Cancun or Acapulco, you have all kinds of restaurants, nightlife, and lots and lots to do!

The best Beach in Mexico is Cancun and The Riviera Maya.
I was in Acapulco, Veracruz, Vallarta, Cancun, Tulum Playa del Carmen and i can tell you that, the sand water all is beautiful in cancun
Other Beaches has it's own attractives like acapulco sunshines
