hello,
i was living in puerto vallarta and cancun and do currently live in playa del carmen.(40 miles south of cancun,right in front of cozumel on the mainland.)....and playa del carmen is exactly where my vote goes to.
puerto vallarta: it is beautiful there...especily the old part of downtown.breathtaking sunsets and lots of things to do.the downside:the ocean and his beach.everthing but nice.
cancun: if you are a party animal....that's the place to go.nice beach at 90% of the hotels.the downside for me: i don't feel like in mexico there....more like collins avenue in miami....only in cancun more people speak english,lol.
cozumel: well...it is beautiful...but it's an island.most hotels are far from town.be ready to take a taxi everytime you want to leave the hotel.in order to go on excursions you have to take the ferry to the mainland (playa del carmen).on the other hand if you just want to relax at the beach....it's nice.
playa del carmen: well..what can i say? playa has it all: beautiful beach,great night life,excellent restaurants/bars/clubs,perfect location,nice hotels and still that kind of laid back ambience.from here you can take the ferry and go on an excursion to cozumel if you want to see it.you can go to all the ruins (which except for chichen itza are all closer to playa than to cancun).xcaret(a must see) is only 5 min away.easy excess to all other excursions like xel-ha and so on.check the link below...it's a very informativ webpage with forum from people which live here or come back frequently.

Either one. If you want to go into the water a lot, stay in the Caribbean area. Personally, I do not like Cancun but love the Mayan Riviera area 50 miles south of Cancun close to the ferry to Cozumel |

Well....I prefer Cancun, but it depends on what you want to do. Cancun is party city and the beach is beautiful. Cozumel....I don't care for at all....just not what I like. Nothing much to do there except snorkel....Carlos and Charlies is about the best thing they have...and I forgot....Margaritaville just opened or will be opening soon. Puerto Vallarta...it is beautiful, but the water is nothing compared to Cancun....a different kind of beauty. I am Cancun crazy....I love the people....the beach....the clubs.....EVERYTHING about Cancun is wonderful. Again, it just depends on what you like. Playa del Carmen is nice, some good clubs there.....Mambo Cafe is great.....5th Avenue is a fun little street to stroll at night. The water there is beautiful, but it is more secluded than Cancun. All places are good, but Cancun is the best. This is my order....Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta....then Cozumel. Well....the last two...could go either way. Whatever you choose...you will enjoy.....just depends on what you like to do and what kind of water you like. If you like the beautiful turquois water....go to Cancun, Playa or Cozumel. |

I've only been to Cozumel. It was beautiful. The only way to know for sure is if someone has been to all the places you're asking about. The only thing you can do is check it out on the internet. If you can post this question, then I'm sure you know how to do this. Have a good trip! |

the place you would want to go is Guadalajara it is the cleanest and everywhere in mexico has sand so hello cleanliness there is things to do in guadladjara its the best and dont think that oh somewhere its very clan and stuff |
