LOL OMG. I HAVE FAMILY IN MEXICO AND THEY ALWAYS TELL US THAT AMERICANS ARE FAT, FROM ALL THE FASTFOOD THEY CONSUME. I TRY EXPLAINING THAT NOT ALL AMERICANS WERE FAT BUT ITS USELESS TO EXPLAIN IT TO THEM. AND THEY ALSO THINK THAT EVERYONE IN AMERICA DOES DRUGS, WHEN ITS THE OPPOSITE. I think they (I´m Mexican too but I don´t believe that so I say they) think that because of the Fast Food Chains. They mostly all come from the states and all the publicity that Americans are giving to these BAD foods. Like the movie Super Size Me, I´m sure most Mexicans have seen this movie so one thought leads to someones comment and then the chain reaction of the belief that All Americans are Fat.
Though you do have your share of fat people, every culture has fat people.
We have plenty of fat people and with us it is because of the lack of information on eating right. I´m sorry to say this to the Mexican population but grease filled or soaked tortillas, quesadillas, tacos, tamales, etc foods are not healthy. Not to mention the all time favorite "Carnitas", this is pig deep fried in gallons of cooking oil... Ugghh!
In conclusion, I believe all cultures have a reason to be fat. And we all have our misconceptions of other cultures, people and races. |
