Poverty is a problem in many Latin American countries. The vast majority of Mexican people are wonderful, kind and giving people. Whenever one travels to a foreign country one hears about all the crime and dangers from ones friends and family. Just remember that people traveling to the USA hear the same stuff, about how dangerous it is here.
You can be careful by traveling (in country) with at least one other person. If you are a woman (and I hate to say this) it is helpful to travel with a man or a group. I would recommend that you stay away from small bar's if you are alone. Criminals often prey on travelers that are by themselves and at late night is the most dangerous time. |

Actually i have quite a few Mexican friends and i have no problems at all so i don't have a clue what you're on about?
The mexican friends i have are both male and female and we get along well and have been friends for many years. I suggest you expand your horizons and find out for yourself. |

have you ever heard people say that they can be your best friends but can also be your worst enemies? i would say that this is the reason why you may encounter some very dangerous Mexicans. like any other race, if you approach them in the wrong way, you will find yourself in a bad situation. practice on your people skills and be "street smart." let us not be stereotypical and treat everyone as an individual. have a blast! some of my most memorable moments come from good old Mexico. |
