Rachael Yay!!!

Why we can't take over Mexico?

Seem like most Mexicans will be happy to be part of USA.
And plus Mexico has OIL. Some of us can move to Mexico
and work there. And plus the weather is nice there.

Why would we want to? There is a reason that so many mexicans cross the border into the US. Why would we want to take over their problems?

I read two editorials on this subject while in Ensenada. One blamed Mexicos ills on the U.S for not annexing them after the Mexican / Amercian war and spreading U.S. wealth and stability. The other Blamed the U.S. for Mexicos ills for annexing the south west and California, which turned into wealthy regions that could lift Mexico out of it's economic and social problems.
I tend to think the first Editorial is closest to being correct. Today the US can't afford to provide the $$$ needed to build the infrastructure that will lift the Mexican economy to US standards. If we arrested and incarcerated every merchant and public employee in Mexico it would still take several genrations before can we change the ingrained social corruption of instutions.

From my point of view as a Mexican, the US already has control of Mexico.

The Mexican Economy relies upon the US Economy, if walk around mexican big cities you will see: Goodyear tires, McDonalds, KFCs, malls, and only american brands for everything.

Mexican economy relies on american banks loans, we import corn, oil and gas from the US and lately, even electrical energy for companies close to the us mexico border.

Mexican economy relies mostly on US tourism.
Mexican laws are being a "copy-paste" of US regulations in most subjects, like environment, safety regulations, law trials, etc.

The fact that we elect our government does not mean we have control over our country...from my point of view..the US has always and specially this times, able to do with mexico what they ever wanted to...

regards..

well, it does seems to be the other way around. Mexicans are taking over US little by little. They probably want the part of the US that used to be Mexico before the Mexican-American War.

wow americans are greedy!!! i dont think that other countries would allow you to take over mexico... america cant afford its own country right now to take over another
