Hello, There is NO Health RISK in this area at all. There are NO Travel Alerts are issued for this area at all. The strong swine type of flu is all over the world now, not just Mexico City. The W.H.O. says, "To restrict travel would be useless and not helpful". Please call me directly in Cancun at 1-888-335-1996 I have lived here 8 years. Anyone that says Mexico is not safe is an uninformed fear-monger and not a very smart person. They are only out to spread fear without knowing the facts, plain and simple.

The swine flu or now called A-H1N1 is not only in Mexico! So instead ask yourself am i safe in my town? Here in Joliet, IL (where i currently live) The Flu has been confirmed, all there is to do is take proper precautions and wash your hands very often, I MEAN VERY OFTEN, use hand sanitizer, and try to keep away from public areas.

With that said my advise to you is not to go to MEXICO CITY. The reason why there is so many deaths in Mexico is mainly because Mexico City (where the flu started) is the 3rd largest city in the world with about 8 Million people in it with no insurance or no money and no medicaid provided how do you think they could survive!? There are many people in that city so it spreading was easy and the amount of people infected is almost impossible to help treat them.

Im going to Mexico in JULY (towards the end). Our family there just today confirmed NO FLU by their area or on them (Arrandas, Jalisco). So I'm going, and the stupid cartel drug guys don't scare me one bit because here where i live UNITED STATES innocent people are shot and killed by gang members and police constantly deprive our rights and harass and beat us. So what is the worst country, don't judge people especially when the number one capital gang/violent city is LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA IN USA.

My Advise, don't go to very populated cities like Cancun (especially populated because of tourist), instead Puerto Vallarta or Xtapa in Jalisco would be safer.

Are you aware that last year the head of the Federal Police (their version of the FBI) was gunned down by an assassin outside his hotel room? Are you aware that the Mexican police and Mexican Army are unable to do anything about it? Are you aware that there was already talk of closing the Mexican border due to this and now with the swine flu it has strengthened?

I guess you're just focusing on the good times you expect to have. What the heck - go on and have fun. But if something bad happens don't go playing the victim role; you volunteered.
