my friend and her family are going to Playacar in just over 2 and a half weeks. She is so worried now with the swine flu epedemic. If she cancels she will lose her money...only if the holiday company cancels will she get her money back. Any advice or suggestions please! |

were going to mexico in july and i have friends who are there at the moment, they are having a great time and said thery arnt a part of all the hustle and bustle, the news just make things a lot worse than they are dont loose your money and go to mexico. in a few weeks time everybody will have forgotten about the virus. |

Why are you asking a bunch of strangers if your friend "SHOULD" or should NOT come???? It's HER health, HER life, her problem. She should find out with her travel agent their refund policy if that's what she's worried about, and check on your country's news whether there's a "prohibition" or recommendation to not come to Mexico. Other than that I don't think that ANYONE can help you or her with this. |

yes I AM going to Mexico City in 3 weeks time however i am taking precautions such as a pneumonia vaccination so that is some form of protection, i have spoken to pharmacist and doctors within my family and they have given me this advice as most people going down with it are getting pneumonia, remember it is still early days with this flu virus we wont know for sure until the next couple of days |

If you cancel you will lose your money.
If the Foreign Office recommends no travel to Mexico your travel company is insured, they will cancel and refund you!
We were going to China during the SARS crisis a few years ago.
The FO cancelled the day before we were due to go. Refund received within a few days. |

i would not risk it but does you family know if the flu is in there part of mexico. Its abit bad thought if you dont get your money back. |

If your friend and her family are willing to take a risk and go then that's up to them.
