With the kidnappings and drug wars going on, Is it safe to spend a week in Cabo San Lucas? |
A good friend of mine and I have a week planned in Cabo in July. I wouldn't walk through T.J. right now but I've never been to Cabo. It's a tourist town I hear but I don't want to take any chances. Can anyone help me out with a little more information on the "Travel Advisory" specifically with Cabo? Thank You very much. |

I have vacationed here for 12 years and lived here full time for over 3. You have no worries with any of that, the Baja Sur is very safe. Criminals need a choice of escape routes and where can the go from here? One road? a ferry to mainland? a private plane, that they could shoot down? No, criminals are basically lazy and its so much easier by the border towns and big cities. I can assure you that the police are very concerned with tourist safety and if you scream, someone will get punished for scaring you. It's a great place and its safe. have fun |

Cabo it is a very safe area, in mexico, there is no comparison with TJ for example, a few months ago hapens here the first problem woth kidnappers, but they are now in prison , you can see when they got catch , just write in youtube "cateos ilegales en los cabos" you will see...so do not worry about that kidnappers alwasy are looking for rich people , not americans |

Going to Mexico is like drinking the stuff underneath the sink. It's possible it won't kill you, but you'll at least get diarrhea and it's generally a terrible idea. |
