Would it be safe for me and my friends to go to Mexico? |
Me and my friends are planning to go to Mexico for some sun and fun :) but were recently told that it's dangerous because mexicans tend to kidnap white people (especially blonde girls) :( which is a major bummer because we really want to go and have tequilas and tacos !! :D
but we don't want to risk our lives :'(
We don't know what to do at the moment....we might just go to Aspen instead... |

it just depends to which part of mexico you were planning on visiting. las flores, or progresso, is pretty neat, they sell tacos, and alcohol, and really nifty cheap trinkets. |

Most of those rumors you here are untrue. Kidnappings are almost entirely among drug gangs or wealthy Mexican families who have someone kidnapped for ransom...Not "white" tourists. Border towns are dangerous. Tourist areas in the rest of Mexico are NOT dangerous. The great majority of Mexico is quite safe...just avoid border towns and stupid behavior...in other words, don't get drunk and make yourself vulnerable...use your good common sense just like a home. I am a single American woman living in Mexico and know many others and have no problems with safety. |

LOL, really you Americans hear something and believe everything, every country has their dangerous cities.
Have you ever been to NY, or LA, wow there are very dangerous neighborrhoods there.
Don't get drunk enoguh to lost yourself and you will be fine.
And don't believe everything you hear, you better come and experience yourself.
I have plenty of foreing friends living in Mexico, Europeans, Canadians, Americans, and if you ask them, they will say Mexico it's safe. |

Charlie is bang on! Do what you would do in your home city to stay safe!
I doubt that you would go to a bar and leave by yourself at 2:00 in the morning at home so don't do it here.
Take precautions but have fun and enjoy the climate, culture and the people! |

go with any older guy friends, stay with him at all times, and you'll most likely be safe.
mexico is really funn! i went this past summer, it's quite nice. except for mexico city.....blehh. =/ |

I really don't recommend going to mexico right now.i bearly arrived from over there.I didnt really like it this time.you dont know who is in that gang(z).they dress normal.so you cant tell who they are.it's really not safe going to mexico at this moment.no matter which part your going.there everywhere.if you want to know more just send me a message |
