Okay, so, I'm from the U.S., and me and my family were going to Mexico to get some dental work done, and when we were done and were coming back, the guard at the border asked us all to roll down our windows so he could see our faces. Then, he asked if he were all U.S. citizens, and we all said yes, but this silly little urge tugged at my mind to say "Si!"...but I didn't, since my dad would probably kill me for causing unnecessary trouble for us, lol, and I was just wondering what the guard would have done if I had said "Si!"... like, would he believe that I was Mexican? I'm seriously pale as a sheet and I have green eyes...and clearly American features, lol. :) |

Ummm. He was speaking to you in English, right?
Even with a word as small as "SÃ", he'd have recognized your white as a sheet ACCENT. I wouldn't expect him to do more than give you a sour stomach expression. He, for SURE, would not have mistaken you for an escaping mexican kid in the car of a bunch of americans. |

They are tough, but if you can prove that your an american they should not cause you any problem..but they take their job very very seriously so is better not to kidd around when you are speaking to them

It might piss him off and if he wanted to be an @ss about it he could make your family pull over for secondary inspection and keep you there for even quite a while...that is IF he wanted to be an @ss about it. They would probably just give you a go to hell look and send you through. |

Just because you are coming from Mexico does not mean you would be Mexican. Just how bad do you want to have you and your family placed in immigration secondary and have your parents provide either a copy of your birth certificate and/or passport? The people on the border are not guards they are inspectors.

In South Mexico all Mexicans are light skin with green or blue eyes and blond hair. And what would of happened is they would of pulled over your car and searched it by tearing it apart, taking each member of you family into a different questioning room, and called in all your information, and probably treat you like crap, thinking your not an american citizen so you don't require human rights. Then you would have to find a ride home due to your parents are being out of commission and boarder patrol is not responsible for anything, just the safety of america. |
