not only no, but hell no. but if you don't care if they do a good, sterile job and don't mind if it might not turn out the way you want it just to save a few bucks, go for it.

there's probably nothing wrong with your nose anyway. i'm guessing you're an insecure teenager. don't go do something you'll regret later. you'll grow up and realize you actually like that you don't look like every other fake, plastic person out there.

[edit] wow, i just looked at some of your other questions. you sound very shallow. "which state has the ugliest women" and "what is the best hair straightener" etc. and i'm wondering if maybe you've had other plastic surgeries and you're running low on money, which would explain why you're considering a nose job in Mexico (which you KNOW is a bad idea or you wouldn't have asked) and lots of credit questions and questions on cheap this-or-that...

i'm glad i'm happy how i am.

Yes. I live in San Diego and had a friend who just had her nose done in Tijuana for about half the price. She looks great! You just need to know someone who had some work done to refer you. Ask to see photos of their work. There's a free alternative news magazine called the Reader in San Diego that has ads of surgeons from Tijuana that have been in business for years. Yes there are quacks in Mexico just as there are in the US.

No. Mexico is an awesome country, but their healthcare system and standards are much lower than ours in the US. If something were to go wrong, it could be disasterous. The money saved would not be worth it. Even if you get a nose job in the US, there are still a lot of risks. If you must get a rhinoplasty, do a thorough research of the plastic surgeon's credentials, history of malpractice suits, etc.

If I wanted a nose job and I was gonna pay out of pocket, of course I would. Mexico has some of the best doctors/specialists in the world. What, just cause you think the majority of the people in Mexico are poor that they don't have any intelligent doctors? LOL! Here's the problem.

Most people in Mexico cannot afford to do surgeries, but it doesn't mean that doctors aren't capable of doing just as good as a job; they have the same equipment necessary. So for example, in the US you're looking at $25,000 for a lap band surgery, you can get the exact same surgery in Monterrey or Mexico City for like $12,000. Does it mean that the quality is better here in the US, of course not, problems can occur anywhere. So yeah, if you have insurance then you go to a specialist here in the US and you pay the $25 or $100 copay. BUT, for the people that don't have insurance or the $25,000, but they want to get the surgery and can get $12,000, then they have the option of going that route...

So, you may be stereotyping certain things, but rest assure, the same quality and results are still there. You just have to do some research as you would elsewhere, find their recommendations and credentials, be smart about it. Don't get me wrong, I've heard some horror stories, but it's usually for people who go to other people's homes and they attempt to perform these surgeries with kitchen knives and so forth... be careful though... =O)

i know three people who've had nose jobs in mexico. and i actually know 2 plastic surgeons who practice in mexico.

keep in mind, the reason things seem so formal, so sanitary here in the US, is because hospitals will get their butts sued if you get sick. in mexico, they do not have this worry. so...they don't go around doing a dog and pony show so you "feel" safer. they just do what they need to do and that's it.

i would have a nose job in mexico, but that's because i've lived there, i know many doctors, and i know whose reputable and whose not.

as for a US citizen going to mexico, just to get a cheap nose job...no, i wouldn't do that. you wouldn't go to some doctor in the US that you've never heard of...why would you do it in mexico?

TOM
There are numerous pro's and con's to getting cosmetic surgury done in third world country's, for one its definitely going to be cheaper than getting it done in the capitalist system of the US but the regulations and health codes are far more lax if they are even in place and the experience level is one you would be taking a huge risk on. In american you know the accredidations are legit and the experience for perfoming the same operations is extensive in mexico your really playing a roulette of sorts. Ive seen cases where exceptional work was done and i've seen jobs botched soo terribly i was nearly irreperable. So in conclusion its not that its a bad idea persey but please do your research and dont go to just anyone for your sake be careful and best of luck

NO WAY!

Lots of good doctors of all kinds in Mexico. Good reports on Tijuana nose jobs. Better to have it done in your own home town, where your surgeon speaks fluent English and you have out patient care.

slew
No. Do you trust a doctor from a third world country. What happen if something went wrong. I've seen some bad breast augs from Mexico.

As for your nose, I never sound a girl unattractive because of their nose, and I allegedly have a nose fettish.

Illogicology
Not really, I'd have to catch a plane to do it. It's hardly worth it. Besides, I like my nose.

Heaven L
hell no.

Meaning no offense, but I wouldn't have my oil changed in Mexico.
