It's very difficult to choose just one! but I'll have to say Palenque (Chiapas), Janitzio/Patzcuaro (Michoacan), Mitla/Monte Alban (Oaxaca), Tenochtitlan (Mexico city), or Chalchihuites (Zacatecas). These are my top picks. |

Heads up!
|
Yes , I have worked in Puebla for work in the automotive industry I am a tool and die maker in Canada. I thought the city was beautiful.
I have also gone on vacation to Peurto Vallarta and Cancun , I preferred Peurto Vallarta because it was more authentic to local Mexican people , Cancun is a nice place to party but is too Americanized for me to enjoy it. I would like to visit Acapulco next time I go to Mexico how is it there?
Beunos neuches y saludos mexicanos . |

Sadly, I haven't been to Mexico yet, but it is definitely on my list of places to travel to. I do know some people who have been to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and they loved it. |

Hey, I also live in Mexico City, but I have a hard time actually naming ONE place as the most beautiful.
All the known tourist spots are great in their own way although I would list Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel and Huatulco as among the most beautiful resort areas.
If you want "out of the way" places that tourists don't often see then try such palces as Tecolutla and the "Costa Esmeralda", Xalapa, Patzcuaro, Cuernavaca, Janitzio, Puerto Angel, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Yucatan, Valle de Bravo and about 1,000 others I don't have space to mention.
If you want a totally Mexican vacation resort, packed to the rafters with Mexicans and busy, noisy, crowded, but still LOTS of fun and pure excitement, there is no place on Earth like Mexico's number one resort city, the one, the only, the world famous - ACAPULCO! |

All the people from Mexico City forgot to mention the "City of Flowers" with all the famous canals and gondolas - Xochimilco!
Definitely a candidate for beautiful places in Mexico! |

I've been living in Monterrey for a year and a half and have traveled to Zacatecas (beautiful,- humanity patrimony- with great churches), San Miguel (I loved it, its international with great restaurants and nice architecture), Guanajuato is beautiful and interesting but too crowded, a bit dirty and not well aimed for tourism. I have been as well to Ixtapa (nice sea), Huatulco (is beautiful, with its natural surroundings still very well preserved) ... but the best so far I have been to (besides Mexico city), definitely has been Cuatro Cienagas in Coahuila. It is a natural reserve (documented by National Geographic) with white sand dunes, and a series of mini lakes (pozas) of transparent waters that emerge from a system of subterranean waters. In these waters you can see endemic species like some beautiful colored fish (which have not changed since prehistoric times) and turtles. In Cuatro Cienagas you will also find Rio Mezquites, an awesome clear watered river and even some caves with prehistoric paintings. Look at this link to have an idea of this hidden Mexico jewel (under threat by unconscious tourism and some multinationals)http://www.desertfishes.org/cuatroc/
I hope that if you go, you enjoy it as much as I did! It really recharges your batteries ... its absolutely beautiful and astonishing. |
