namaste. i am just curious to know about the people from around the globe have any idea of a country named Nepal? any of you been there? how was the experience?...
The previuos answerer is correct. Everest is not within view of Kathmandu city. However, you can view the 7000m peaks of the Langtang range on a clear day. When you fly into Kathmandu, if you are blessed with good weather, you will see almost the entirety of the Nepali Himalaya from Annapurna to Kangchenjunga.
It is possible to go to a place on the outskirts of Kathmandu called Nagarkot, where you are above the haze of the Kathmandu valley and can see several 8000m peaks, including Everest and even into Tibet (Shishapangma). The best viewing times are sunrise and sunset. There are several lodges in Nagarkot, which is quiet and pleasantly free of the air pollution of the big city below.

yes you can see if the weather is clear, no clouds and nothing you can easily see mount everest from kathmandu. you will see like whole range of mountains in the north side of kathmandu but its very hard to find out which one is mount everest. best way is to go to Nagarkot or kakani its just few hours drive from kathmandu and you can easily see and find out which is mount everest.

No, unfortunately you can't. Kathmandu is around the middle of Nepal and Mt. Everest is farther to the Northeast on the Border with China. Actually, it is quite hard to see any snow-capped peaks from Kathmandu because of the constant clouds and smog. I only saw a couple on very clear days. It is still very beautiful as it is in the valley surrounded by lush green mountains and hills.

No,you cannot see Everest from Kathmandu. Either you have to go to Solukhumbu or go for mountain flight to see Everest.
