Has anyone been an IVHQ volunteer? Volunteer work in Nepal?
I am looking at doing some volunteer work in Nepal next year, I want to go with a reputable company. I came across the IVHQ website, seems great! There is an up-front registration fee of $200, i'm wondering if anyone has had a placement with these guys before? Legitimate? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
They cooperate with a lot of local NGOs and in-country organizations in a wide variety of countries, and their founder, Daniel Radcliffe, seems very sincere.
They have volunteering opportunities in a lot of places in Nepal - rural or urban - and in a lot of fields, so they must have partnerships with a lot of local organizations. You will have to pay your own expenses, since the communities in which you will be volunteering are actually too poor to pay for you, which makes sense - if they could pay you, they could have paid someone to do the job in the first place - but the expenses seem moderate and the group is legitimate.
