If you figure that Everest is roughly regular square pyramid and it's height of 8850 meters rises approximately 3850 meters from the surrounding 5000m elevation plain, then the equation is to measure the volume of square pyramid with a height of 3850 meters, or 385,000 cm. To find that figure, it's 1/3base*height squared, or just take 1/3 of 385,000 cubed to get 19,022,208,333,371,376 cubic cm. (just under 20 quadrillion). |
