I can confidently tell you that you will enjoy your visit, although I personally feel that the best time to visit Nepal is in the winter. You have a lot of activities to choose from - if you are adventurous try trekking, rafting and a visit to the Himalaya base camp. A flight to see the peaks ( all local carriers have a flight or two) is a must.
Otherwise, you can hang around Thamel, visit the palace and temples, eat the tasty local cusine and even taste Raksi ( the local drink). The locals are friendly and things are generally cheap. All necessary equipment and food / drinks / cosmetics and accessories are easily available at Bahtbateni or some of the other supermarkets.I advise you to carry your own medicines.
Please negotiate rates for everything, specially the transport before you board and also guide charges. Casinos are enjoyable as well.
Have a good trip!!
