How long can a visiter stay in Nepal before they legally need to return home?
I am searching for a way to be with my Husband. He works for a non profit organization in Nepal. He helps many people and he is needed there. We also need each other. We are looking for a way to be together with as little cost as possible. Neither on of us have money. I am willing to move there but I have medical needs that would not be met there. I am looking for help. I am very willing to also work in the non profit organization helping the people of Nepal. I can teach basic computer skills, soldering and repair of computer boards, cook meals, and I am sure there are many other things I can contribute. I just need someone to fund this. So my first question is how long would I be able to stay.
On a tourist visa, you can stay for the maximum of 150 days in a year (January to December). The cost of this would be US$ 100 for 90 days and additional $ 2 per day.
If you are planning to stay for may be around a year on a tourist visa, then you could come at the around July and use the 150 days of one year and another 150 days from the next year.
You might want to look at the visa regulations to know more about which one fits your requirements. http://www.immi.gov.np/visa.php
You might want to consider applying for a study visa in Nepal. May be learning Nepali language could be one of the options, if you do not have any other.
